Are you employment-ready? Get real-life skills and work experience through the Informatics+ Blended Learning Program

In its mission to transform students into globally competitive professionals, Informatics offers a new blended learning program that requires students to undergo real-life projects with private or public companies and organizations. Through Informatics+, students will gain proof of practical knowledge and skills, which are what companies today look for when hiring an employee.

In the digital age, companies are more discerning when it comes to hiring employees. Employers now zero in on specific and verifiable skills a job applicant brings to the table.  A graduate with skills that match the job description can contribute to the success of the company. Thus, many local and global companies are now practicing skills-based hiring, a hiring approach that focuses on a job applicant’s technical skills and core competencies more than their educational background.

According to the Philippines Graduates Tracer Study conducted in 2021, there is a substantial job-education mismatch among college graduates, with 3 in 10 graduates in the Philippines ending up mismatched to the jobs they apply for.  To address the skill mismatch and ensure the employability of students, Informatics redesigned its blended learning program to include relevant lessons and experiences that aim to equip students with work-related skills.

The Informatics+ program requires students to undergo measured internship programs verified by companies and organizations. This experiential learning will allow them to obtain not only a degree but also the right skills that will make them fit for the career path they wish to take.

The program also consists of different modes of in-class learning such as face-to-face, online, synchronous, and asynchronous learning.  Students also benefit from out-of-class learning activities including community immersion, product/project presentations, and departmental final exams. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive certifications from Informatics that can serve as proof of their skills.

“Through Informatics+, we foster an authentic learning environment for students. An effective way to train and prepare students for the real world is to let them experience working  with real companies. Their on-the-job experience with our partner companies will equip them with the right skills, knowledge, and attitude they will need to thrive in the corporate world,” said Mr. Leo A. Riingen, President/CEO of Informatics Philippines.

Informatics offers various program offerings including senior high school track, bachelor’s degree program, diploma courses, and corporate/short courses. Find out more about Informatics Online Schooling at www.informatics.edu.ph and follow Informatics Philippines on Facebook.
