Informatics Eastwood students join ALGOLYMPICS 2019: A Programming Competition for College Students

Last February 23, 2019 at the Accenture Ideas Exchange Room in the Department of Computer Science, University of the Philippines Diliman, UP ACM once again held its annual inter-collegiate programming competition: ALGOLYMPICS 2019.

The big game commenced with thirty teams accepting the challenge. With more than five hours of solving and executing grueling but exciting problem sets, three teams are named as this year’s winners. On its sixth year, the Algolympics is the annual flagship event of Association for Computing Machinery – UP Diliman Student Chapter that aims to gather students from different colleges and universities and to challenge them to solve various problems through programming.

All teams were given twelve (12) stimulating problems to be solved within five (5) hours using the given contest environment. Teams will be ranked based on the number of problems solved as well as the amount of time they spend in coming up with a solution.

3rd Year Computer Science students of Informatics Eastwood, Vincent Garcia, Lea Daniel and Matthew Ong, used C, C++ and Java as the programming language to solve the problems.
