Taguig City Mayor Lino Cayetano recently completed the online course Expert Insights on Managing a Crisis, one of the courses offered in the learning platform of solutions provider Xplore Philippines Inc and Informatics College. Updating his knowledge on how to handle the crisis within an organization, Mayor Cayetano took the lead in taking a digital course under his government’s cyber schooling initiative.
In April, the local government of Taguig launched the Taguig Online Resources and Community Hub (TORCH). The program offers various online courses students, workers, and entrepreneurs can learn from while staying at home. The course completed by Mayor Cayetano is one of the many digital courses offered by the Training and Enrichment Courses from Taguig Online Campus (TECTOC), one of the five component programs of TORCH.
TECTOC runs through Xplore and Informatics’ intelligent digital learning platform, Percipio. Using any device including a mobile phone, students can access 25,000 courses and 40,000 e-books/audiobooks. Percipio allows students to learn by watching expert-driven video courses, reading online books from leading publishers, and listening to a large collection of audiobooks.
As proof of the successful completion of courses, the students will receive downloadable certificates or badges.
Percipio is the latest version of the e-Learning platform developed by Skillsoft, a US-based online learning content provider preferred by 65% of Fortune 500 companies. Skillsoft has also trained more than 400 million users globally, including world-class educational institutions such as Yale University, Cornell University, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Aside from Corporate/Short Courses on the Percipio platform, Informatics offers Senior High School tracks, Bachelor’s Degree programs, and Diploma courses. Being one of the pioneers of online learning in the country, Informatics continues to provide quality online education through its internationally recognized e-learning technologies.
